    Welcome to the programme

Please read the information on this page on how to access your courses. It is fairly straightforward; if you have any trouble, just come back here to the "Site home" by clicking on "Site home" in the navdrawer on the left, or on "STSLearn Home" in the navbar across the top, to the left.

    Please follow these steps:

    STEP 1:

To open the course you want to work on, click on its number under “My courses” in the navpane on the left. If the navpane is not open, click on the hamburger in the top left.

The following steps are repeated on each "Course home" page, but please read them now, anyway:

    STEP 2:

You will now be in the "Course home" page. Read the introduction and watch any videos that may be there.

    STEP 3:

Go to the course contents/learning materials now: click on the book icon below (OUTCOME 1)

    STEP 4:

Work through the book; view the videos and read the contents.

You can always go back to the "Course home" by clicking on the red button under the main video.

    STEP 5:

Check your understanding by doing the quizzes throughout the sections.

    STEP 6:

When you have finished OUTCOME 1, exit the book and either move to the next OUTCOME or finish. (Links are at the bottom of the page and in the navigation block at the top right or below.)

    Why is learning important?

Learning provides people with the skills and tools they need to navigate the world. Without learning, people would not be able to read, write, calculate, or communicate; they would also not be able to perform jobs competently, accurately, and safely.

Learning also teaches people about the world in which they live, including information about history, philosophy, and culture.
